If you're looking for the perfect day trip idea, don't sleep on Elbow Falls!
Thank you to everyone that recommended we check it out during our sister date, it was so very worth it!
The falls were gorgeous, there was way less people then you'd run into in Banff, the water was cold and so very blue and you're only 15 minutes away from Bragg Creek!
They've also got day use areas or you can have a lovely picnic 🧺

I found the area to be much less crowded than other popular spots like Banff, which really allowed me to relax and connect with nature. The water's vibrant blue color is truly mesmerizing, and the chilly temperature adds to the refreshing experience on a warm day. The surrounding picnic areas are well-maintained and invite visitors to spend quality time with friends or loved ones in a serene setting. Additionally, Elbow Falls makes for a perfect date destination. During my visit, the tranquility combined with the natural beauty created a romantic atmosphere that’s hard to beat. Whether you’re hiking, picnicking, or just soaking in the views, it’s a fantastic spot to unwind. For those looking to explore more, the nearby town of Bragg Creek offers charming shops and eateries, making it easy to extend your day trip with a bite to eat or some local shopping. Overall, Elbow Falls offers a balance of accessibility, beauty, and peacefulness that makes it a must-visit for anyone near Calgary.
