Lessons From the Barn: How Faith Melts Fear
Texas just went through an ice event. Roads frozen over, tires spinning, businesses shut down, everything stuck in place.
“Frozen in place” feels like a pretty accurate description.
It got us thinking. Sometimes, as Christians, we can look a lot like those icy roads.
When our attitude grows cold, when frustration, fear, or discouragement creep in, we freeze. We try to move forward, but our tires just spin. No traction. No progress. We’re stuck right where we are.
Horses teach us this lesson too. A cold, tense horse won’t move freely. Tight muscles, guarded steps, no trust. But when there’s warmth, patience, consistency, care. Then the change is obvious. They loosen up. They move forward. They respond.
It’s the same with us.
When we allow God’s love, grace, and truth to shine on our hearts, the ice melts. We thaw out. Faith replaces fear. Peace replaces tension. Forward motion replaces being stuck.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” – Isaiah 60:1
No matter how frozen things may feel today, don’t stay stuck. Step into His warmth. Let Him guide your next step, on the ground, in the saddle, and in life.
Faith over fear. Always moving forward.
