... Read moreHey everyone! Since you're here checking out my art, I wanted to dive a little deeper into what Fabisouls is all about for me. It’s more than just a name; it’s the heart of my creative universe, where all my characters come to life!
You might have seen my vibrant cartoon character, the clown weasel, always ready with a 'JOKES' sign! He's one of my absolute favorites, a character that truly embodies playful chaos. I love bringing out his mischievous personality through bold colors and dynamic poses, making every sketch a little adventure.
Then there's Pepper, my sweet brown character often seen in her charming red cap and plaid dress with suspenders. She's incredibly shy but has a heart full of love, especially for cowboys and ladybugs. Her cherished teddy bear is always by her side, a little piece of her comfort zone in a big, exciting world. Creating Pepper was about exploring innocence, quiet strength, and the comfort of small, precious things.
And speaking of ladybugs, let me introduce you to Santiago! He's Pepper's unlikely but loyal cowboy ladybug friend, often traveling with his trusty horse, Blackjack. Santiago might be a bit uneducated in the traditional sense, but he's wise in his own way, always jotting down thoughts and observations in his journal. His adventures often lead him to Pepper, and their contrasting yet complementary dynamic is something I truly enjoy illustrating.
My weasel-like character in the blue and red historical soldier's uniform represents another fascinating facet of my imagination – a blend of history, whimsy, and a touch of heroic flair. I love imagining these characters in unexpected roles, giving them unique stories to tell through my drawings.
Many of you often ask where the inspiration for Fabisouls comes from. Honestly, it's a beautiful mix of everyday observations, a nostalgic love for old cartoons, and just letting my imagination run wild! For me, sketching daily is absolutely key. Even if it’s just a quick doodle or a character pose, it keeps the creative juices flowing and helps me refine my style. I often start with a basic shape or a mood and let the character slowly emerge, sometimes with a clear idea, other times just seeing where the pen takes me.
I experiment with different mediums, though digital art is my go-to for these vibrant characters. The key, I've found, is to have fun and not be afraid to make 'mistakes' – often, those 'mistakes' are where the most interesting and unique ideas come from!
If you're an aspiring artist, my biggest tip for finding your own 'Fabisouls' style is to draw what you love and let your personality shine through. Don't worry about being perfect; just keep creating. Share your work, get feedback (it’s invaluable!), and most importantly, enjoy the process of bringing your own worlds to life.
