Healing from burnout 💔👇🏼

The purpose of this morning routine was to consistently, overtime, help my body heal by promoting the parasympathetic state instead of living in constant sympathetic overdrive (aka, BURNOUT).

The biggest shifts in my slow morning routine were:

- Not rushing into the day… instead, allowing my body time to ease into the day (rushing = stress = putting your body into a sympathetic state). The body cannot heal in a sympathetic state… it can only heal in a parasympathetic state!

- rehydrating immediately upon waking with filtered water + minerals, sometimes I added gut healing nutrients! I swapped my morning coffee on an empty stomach for hydration instead!

- Not having caffeine on an empty stomach. I actually gave up caffeine for a period of time while healing and when I re-introduced it, I only had it after eating breakfast and not within an hour of waking.

Caffeine kept fueling the fire of fatigue & exhaustion that I was experiencing in burnout, it was it was making things worse so I cut it out temporary.

- Eating a balanced high-protein breakfast within 45 minutes of waking to stabilize my blood sugar and support my hormones

- getting a morning walk in and exposing my eyes to morning sunlight doing some deep breathing while walking and focusing on my breath, made a huge difference and reducing stress and getting my body into a parasympathetic state.

Burnout is truly so taxing on the body mind and soul, and it takes time to heal. If anything… be patient with yourself trust the process and ease into rest as much as you can. It wasn’t easy establishing a morning routine like this for myself as I was so used to the go go go and hustle culture but I truly believe that without implementing this morning routine, it would’ve taken so much longer to heal!

... Read moreHealing from burnout is crucial for restoring your overall well-being. Start your day gently by waking up to calming sounds or natural sunlight. Hydrate immediately with filtered water and gut-healing nutrients to replenish your body. Avoid caffeine on an empty stomach and focus on a balanced high-protein breakfast to stabilize blood sugar levels. Incorporating morning walks while deep breathing can significantly reduce stress and support your recovery. By prioritizing self-care and patience, you create sustainable habits that promote long-term healing and resilience against burnout.
