Ingredients:
•Chicken breast
•1 tbsp Onion powder
•1 tbsp Garlic powder
•1 tsp Salt
•1 tsp Black pepper
•1/2 cup Cornstarch
•1/2 cup Flour
•2 Eggs
•1 tbsp Soy sauce
Sauce:
•4 tbsp Soy sauce
•1 cup Orange juice
•Orange zest
•1/2 tsp Garlic paste
•1/2 tsp Ginger paste
•2/3 cup Sugar
•4 tbsp Rice vinegar
•1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes
•Cornstarch slurry (cornstarch + water)
Garnish:
•Sesame seeds
•Green onions
Instructions:
1. Dice chicken breast into small pieces.
2. In a large bowl, add chicken, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, cornstarch, flour, eggs, and soy sauce. Mix well until everything is coated, then let it sit for a few minutes.
3. For the sauce, combine soy sauce, orange juice, orange zest, garlic paste, ginger paste, sugar, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Stir and set aside.
4. Heat oil in a pan and fry the chicken in batches until golden and crispy.
5. Return all the fried chicken to the pot for a second fry until extra crispy, then set aside.
6. In a clean pan, pour in the sauce mixture. Bring it to a simmer, then add cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened and glossy.
7. Add the chicken into the pan and toss until fully coated in the sauce.
8. Plate, then garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
