Dealing with a disturbing online cult while being homeless was one of the scariest experiences I've had. From my experience, staying anonymous and cautious was crucial since they tried to find personal information about me. I highly recommend anyone in vulnerable positions to safeguard their privacy and to avoid engaging with anyone who seems aggressive or cult-like online. Social media can be a powerful tool for connection but also for harm if we’re not careful. It's also important to be aware of online harassment and stalking behaviors. In my case, the cult’s online members sent threatening messages and tried to escalate intimidation. Recognizing red flags and seeking support from trusted people or resources can provide some protection. Sharing my story here is a way to warn others: internet cults can be real, dangerous, and invasive. If you encounter such situations, document everything, avoid direct confrontation, and contact law enforcement if threats or harassment arise. Remember, your safety and mental health come first.
