Domino Park | Things to Do in NYC 🫶🏾

My favorite thing to do in the summer is picnic at Domino Park !

It is located in Williamsburg . It is walking distance from the J/Z/M trains at Marcy Ave.

The views are beautiful and there is plenty of places to sit. You can sit on the grass or find a nice bench. Something about being near the water is just so relaxing.

There is an overlook , a playground for the children, and even a super yummy restaurant right on the pier.

Please keep in mind the park closes at 10:30pm.

💭 what’s your go to summer spot ?

... Read moreHey everyone! I wanted to dive a little deeper into why Domino Park isn't just a park, but truly my ultimate summer escape in NYC, especially for a picnic. You know that feeling when you find a spot that just *clicks*? That's Domino Park for me. When I'm planning a picnic here, I always think about timing. While the original post mentions it closes at 10:30 PM, coming in the late afternoon is perfect. You get to enjoy the golden hour, and then watch as the illuminated New York City skyline slowly lights up across the water – it's absolutely magical for a nighttime view. Imagine laying out your floral blanket as the sun dips, with the city lights twinkling as your backdrop. It’s an experience you really can’t get enough of. For the perfect picnic, I often pack something easy but delicious, like a salad with chicken and a refreshing coconut water. Don't forget a comfy picnic blanket – those grassy areas are fantastic, but a little extra padding makes all the difference. Sometimes, I even see people fully decked out, enjoying their summer day in stylish light green striped outfits or even just a bikini under a cover-up, truly embracing the summer vibes. Beyond just the food, what makes Domino Park special for picnics are the diverse spots. You can grab a bench right by the water, find a shady spot under the trees, or spread out on the large open lawn. There’s always space, even on a busy summer day. And if you forget something, or just want a treat, there’s that super yummy restaurant right on the pier – perfect for grabbing a coffee or an ice cream to complement your picnic. For families, the playground is a huge plus. It’s not just a small swing set; it’s really well-designed and keeps kids entertained while adults can still relax and enjoy the scenery. It’s nice to know there are options for everyone. Getting there from Williamsburg is a breeze, especially if you're taking the J/Z/M to Marcy Ave. It's a pleasant walk, and you start feeling that waterfront breeze even before you arrive. It’s also incredibly clean and well-maintained, which makes the whole experience so much more enjoyable. I also love to just walk along the waterfront, taking in the unique industrial-chic aesthetic mixed with natural beauty. There are historical elements from the old Domino Sugar Factory that add so much character. It’s a place where you can feel the pulse of New York while still finding a tranquil escape. Whether you're looking for a romantic nighttime view with the illuminated New York City skyline, a fun summer day with friends, or a relaxing family picnic ground, Domino Park truly delivers one of the best experiences in NYC. Don't just go, experience it!
