The Best Movie Theater in NYC | Things to do

Every-time I think I found the best movie theater I find one that’s better. I’m usually a Regal Girl but AMC just knocked it out of the park !

AMC Lincoln Square 13

what makes it the best ? Other than the beautiful lobby artwork of course😂 They have IMAX 70mm. This was my first time in this kind of theater and let me tell you I am not going back !! I seen One Battle After Another and it felt like I was in the movie.

If you are a movie fanatic you need to check this theater out ! It is located in Lincoln Square .

Add it to your itinerary for your next day out in Manhattan

... Read moreWhile my recent visit to AMC Lincoln Square 13 for the IMAX 70mm screening of 'One Battle After Another' completely blew me away, I know many of you might also be curious about other immersive options like 4DX at AMC. I've had experiences with 4DX at other AMC locations, and it's a completely different beast! If you're looking for a ride-like experience with motion seats, wind, water, and even scents, 4DX is fantastic, especially for action-packed blockbusters where you want to feel every explosion and chase. However, for sheer visual grandeur and audio precision, especially for films shot on film like the 70mm format, IMAX 70mm at Lincoln Square really can't be beaten. It's about being enveloped by the film's world, not just experiencing it with external effects. Speaking of IMAX 70mm, it's not just a bigger screen; it's a whole different level of cinematic presentation. When I watched 'One Battle After Another' at AMC Lincoln Square 13, the clarity and depth were astonishing. Queries like 'amc lincoln square 13 imax screen size' really get to the heart of what makes this experience special. The sheer scale and detail provided by the 70mm film print, projected onto that massive screen, create an immersion that digital just can't replicate. It's a truly analog, grand spectacle. The sound system also plays a huge part, making you feel the rumble and roar of every scene. It’s why people actively seek out '70mm imax nyc' locations – it’s a rare and incredible treat for true film lovers. Beyond Lincoln Square, NYC boasts a variety of fantastic movie houses. For those searching for '84th st movie theater nyc' or 'loews 84th broadway', you're in the same general vibrant Upper West Side neighborhood. While these offer great standard screenings, they might not offer the premium formats like the IMAX 70mm experience at AMC Lincoln Square 13. I've also heard friends rave about AMC Empire 25 in Times Square – some people specifically look for 'amc empire 25 interior' because of its unique layout and multiple screens, but it caters more to sheer volume and central location rather than specific premium formats like 70mm IMAX. And if you're exploring downtown, some might consider 'regal cinema tribeca' for a different vibe. Each has its charm, but for that truly epic, larger-than-life cinematic event, I always recommend looking for the IMAX 70mm. If you're planning a visit to the best movie theater in NYC, especially for a major release that's showing in IMAX 70mm, I highly recommend booking your tickets in advance. These screens, especially for highly anticipated films like 'One Battle After Another,' sell out quickly due to their popularity. And don't forget to arrive a little early to soak in the atmosphere – the lobby artwork at AMC Lincoln Square 13 is quite impressive, as the original article mentioned! It's truly a destination for movie enthusiasts in Manhattan.
