Mourning that old you is completely normal but it’s not going “back” to your self that is hard it’s accepting that there’s a new version of you. A more resilient, more aware and even more mature version that is slowly coming together and that’s also hard to accept 🫶🏼

But everyday is a new opportunity and try to do atleast one thing that this “new you” loves and appreciates so that slowly this new habit starts feeling less and less heavy on you! For me this has been taking a Pilates class once a week when my husband is able to take care of the girls so I have one hour to just be me, not mom not wife just Evelyn and yes before the class I want to just stay home and cuddle with my family and the guilt starts crippling in but after the class despite the chaos that sometimes happens before leaving the house and after the workout I feel so much better, more alive and even more grateful for those around me that love me and protect me. ✨🥹 don’t be so hard on yourselves queens, laundry will always be there but your mental peace needs you today.

For new moms, finding activities that resonate personally and fit into your lifestyle can cultivate resilience and joy during such a significant life transition. It’s also important to recognize that setbacks, like chaotic mornings or sudden disruptions, are part of the process. Embracing imperfection and focusing on progress fosters a kinder mindset toward yourself. Laundry and chores will always be there, but dedicating time for mental and physical wellness today can profoundly impact your overall well-being. Tools like reformer Pilates, as highlighted in the visual notes, offer a controlled yet supportive environment to rebuild strength safely. Listening to your body, celebrating small victories, and letting go of the need to “go back” to who you were helps you move forward into this empowering postpartum phase. Remember, each step you take toward self-care is a step toward a healthier, more centered you.
