Homemade Taco Seasoning

There’s no reason to buy taco seasoning any longer when you have this recipe that uses a combination of spices you probably already have! Shake everything together and you’ve got a delicious spice blend for any number of recipes!

Plus, using fresh spices just tastes so much better! The aroma alone is mouth-watering. And let's talk about cost! Those little packets add up. Buying spices in bulk or even just larger containers is far more economical in the long run. I always keep my pantry stocked with chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and oregano. It means I'm always ready for taco night, and I save money each time. Now, I know some folks prefer their tacos on the milder side, or maybe they're not a big fan of cumin. The beauty of homemade is you can totally customize it! If you want a milder blend, simply reduce or omit the red pepper flakes. For an extra kick, feel free to add a little more! And if cumin isn't your jam, you can easily swap it out. Try adding an extra 1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika or a bit more chili powder to keep that earthy, rich flavor profile without the cumin.
