Pregnancy cravings can feel intense and sometimes surprising, especially around the mid-second trimester like 17-18 weeks pregnant. During this time, your body is experiencing many hormonal and nutritional changes which often trigger specific cravings for both sweet and savory foods. For example, many expectant moms find themselves reaching for fresh fruits like strawberries and blueberries, which provide natural vitamins and antioxidants beneficial for both mom and baby. On the other hand, cravings for savory and salty treats such as pizza, pickles, or fries from favorite places like Wingstop can be quite common as well. These foods may satisfy increased salt needs or simply provide comfort and pleasure during pregnancy. However, it's important to balance indulgent cravings with nutritious choices to support healthy fetal development. In my own experience at 17 weeks pregnant, I noticed a mix of cravings ranging from tangy drinks like Sunny D to hearty sandwiches from Subway. Listening to my body prompted me to incorporate these cravings thoughtfully and ensure I was also eating a well-rounded diet with plenty of hydration. If you find certain cravings challenging to handle, consider moderating portion sizes and pairing them with nutrient-rich foods. Also, discussing your cravings with your healthcare provider can help address any underlying nutritional needs or pregnancy symptoms prompting these desires. Overall, pregnancy cravings are a unique and personal part of the pregnancy journey. Embracing them with mindfulness can add an enjoyable and memorable dimension while maintaining your health and well-being.

I know the feeling about the Sunny D I had it everyday all day and night and I only wanted pasta and bagels with cream cheese along with donuts plus wanted ice cream and hoagies but couldn't do toasted so I hated it lol 😂 that was in first trimester after I stopped throwing up but had to have meds to stop my nausea but now my baby is almost 5y
