Copyright Claim Update
My own song got copyright claimed by a company called RepostNetwork, when I tried to post a promo video for my own song. Not only was my work claimed, RepostNetwork has it blocked globally. This concerns me as I do not want this to happen to people who use my song within fair use (and with credit), and I do not want to block videos globally because of my music being used.
It could be legitimate, maybe a third party from SoundCloud or another streaming service, but I have never had this happen before and I think its something more nefarious going on (like some shady company trying to claim songs of less known artists somehow?) But that is all just speculation on my end. RepostNetwork is NOT the content owner of my song.
I do not know Repost Network, or have had any contact with them regarding copyright claiming videos using my music. Especially blocking them globally which is something that makes no sense to me.
I respect the legal representation of smaller artists and keeping them protected, but their has to be communication of whats going on.
I will always work on making sure my music can be used in videos, or projects.
