In Alberta and across Canada, the sense of community and visibility continues to grow, offering encouragement and support for those who may have faced political or social challenges in the past. From my own experiences, finding spaces where queer content is celebrated without judgment, and where individuals proudly express their true selves, has made a significant impact on my mental health and happiness. Whether it's connecting through hashtags like #wlw, #lateinlifelesbian, or broader ones like #lgbtqia, these online communities foster belonging and affirmation. Embracing and sharing joyful LGBTQIA+ content helps counter negativity and reminds us all that happiness and pride are achievable, regardless of past frustrations. This spirit of resilience and inclusion is particularly important when regional or political climates, such as those in Alberta, might otherwise feel isolating.
