What my mentor told me changed everything

Do you know why we clicked?

It’s funny how life works sometimes.

The right people don’t come immediately.

But when they do, you just feel it.

Same frequency, intention and heart.

I still remember when I first met my mentor.

I shared honestly about my situation, I wanted a change, but I wasn’t in a position to do much at that point.

She could have easily guided me towards a faster path, something more aggressive.

But she didn’t.

Instead, she told me something I always remember.

“𝙔𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙪𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙘𝙠, 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙪𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙣."

At that time, i didn’t just need a strategy.

I needed space to breathe, to think clearly again. And to believe that change was actually possible

And 3 years plus later…

I’m no longer in the same place, not just in what I do, but in how I feel about life.

Lighter, clearer and more at peace.

Now when I speak to people, I realise something.

Sometimes it’s not about whether we can start.

It’s this quiet question and internal struggle inside.

“𝗔𝗺 𝗜 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘁 100% 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺?”

And that was me before too.

Grateful for those who trusted me to walk this journey together.

Just like how someone once did the same for me.

Don’t have to rush. But you do have to be honest with yourself.

Because once things become clear, the next step becomes very simple.

... Read moreReflecting on my experience, I realize how often we rush into solutions without addressing the deeper need for clarity and peace of mind. My mentor’s advice to focus on getting "unstuck" rather than adding more pressure resonated deeply. It’s easy to think a new strategy or aggressive change is the answer, but sometimes the best move is to pause, breathe, and give yourself permission to simply be. In the years since that conversation, I’ve come to understand that true progress often starts with honesty—being truthful with yourself about your fears, hesitations, and doubts. Asking yourself if something is "worth committing to long term" can feel intimidating, but it’s a powerful step in building meaningful change. What really helped me was the realization that life isn’t a race. Everyone’s journey toward personal growth and fulfillment unfolds on its own timeline. By embracing patience and self-compassion, I was able to move forward with a clearer heart and mind. I encourage others facing similar crossroads to seek mentors or trusted voices who understand that getting unstuck is more than just productivity; it’s about healing mental and emotional blocks. This lesson has continued to shape how I support others, reminding me to listen deeply and honor each person's unique pace. If you’re feeling uncertain, don’t rush—allow space to find clarity. Once you do, the next step will reveal itself in its own time, and you’ll move forward not just with a plan, but with genuine confidence and peace.

What my mentor taught me about Overcoming Fear
When I first started working on myself and my business, one of the biggest things holding me back wasn’t time, money, or talent. It was fear. Fear of failing. Fear of looking stupid. Fear of “what will people think?” Fear of trying something new in Singapore’s very “play safe” culture. But
