When visiting Amanohashidate from Kyoto, I recommend starting your trip early in the morning to make the most of your day. The JR Hashidate Limited Express train offers a comfortable and efficient way to get there, departing from Kyoto Station with a travel time of around two hours. The fare is approximately ¥4,800, which I found reasonable for the scenic route. Besides the train, there are also bus options, but the JR train is typically faster and offers more frequent departures. Once you arrive, take time to enjoy the breathtaking views and explore the local attractions that Amanohashidate has to offer. Be mindful of the last return train to Kyoto, which leaves around 7 pm, so plan your visit accordingly. Bringing a camera is a must, as the views of the Amanohashidate sandbar are truly unforgettable. If you're traveling from nearby Osaka, the Hosidate Limited Express also serves the route, providing additional schedule flexibility. Overall, I found the journey straightforward and highly rewarding, making Amanohashidate a perfect day trip or a peaceful getaway from the bustling city life of Kyoto.
