Airhead from 1995🤯🤢🤣

Finding that 1995 Airhead really got me thinking, not just about how it ended up under the shelves at CVS, but about candy itself! Like, *can airheads expire*? And if so, what happens? They can definitely get stale, hard, or lose their flavor over time, but they usually won't grow harmful bacteria. The 'best by' date is more about quality than safety. So, while I wouldn't recommend trying to eat a 29-year-old cherry Airhead (even a 15-cent one!), it's probably not going to make you seriously sick. It would just be a very, very chewy, flavorless experience! This makes me wonder about other old candies – *how long are airheads good for*, really? Generally, they say 1-2 years past the printed date for best quality. My 1995 find was definitely pushing that limit, having a date code '95 04 07'! Speaking of pushing limits, that old wrapper was a trip! It had 'van Melle's AIR HEADS' and proudly proclaimed 'A NEW HIGH IN CHEWY FRUITY CANDY'. It’s amazing to see how much packaging has evolved from that simple design. What really caught my eye, though, was the 'SAY NO! TO DRUGS' message prominently displayed on the back. Can you imagine a candy company putting a public service announcement like that on their wrapper today? It really grounds this particular candy in its era, a stark reminder of the 90s. This whole discovery also made me super nostalgic for *90s candy*. Remember all those amazing treats? It makes you think about discontinued airhead flavors or *rare airhead flavors*. I miss some of the wild, experimental flavors they used to have, beyond the classic cherry, blue raspberry, or watermelon. And don't even get me started on the *airhead popsicles*! Those were a summer staple for me, especially the ones shaped just like the candy strips. It's a shame they're *discontinued popsicles from the 90s*.
