shopping in Chong Qing - W Management

i know many many many people are recommending some pops chinese brands for shopping, but china’s fashion is really just #NotForMe 🥲

went to W Management in Chong Qing (解放碑outlet) & it was HUGE so i initially had v high hopes! picked up 3 jeans and a skirt to try on but none fit me well… their jeans were too baggy (i looked like a plastic bag irl), waist area was too loose despite me taking the smallest size (I’m an XS for lovet) & they literally DRAG on the floor (ok i’m 156cm…)

but i guess this is chinese fashion for you!! on the streets we kept seeing these 拖地裤 (basically pants/ jeans that rly drags on the floor) so…

the plus points are that the shop is REALLY pretty w v nice lighting in the fitting room!! 🥹

... Read moreIf you're planning to shop at W Management stores beyond Chongqing, such as in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, or Guangzhou, keep in mind that while the brand offers a visually appealing retail environment, their sizing may be quite different from Western standards. Many customers find that the clothing leans toward oversized or floor-length designs, characteristic of current Chinese fashion trends. From my experience, even when the smallest size was chosen, items like jeans appeared baggy and long, which could be a challenge for those shorter than average height. However, the quality and aesthetics of the store environment compensate somewhat, making the try-on experience pleasant. For shoppers interested in W Management's collections but hesitant to visit in person, exploring their online store might be worthwhile to get a better feel for available styles and sizing beforehand. Also, considering other city locations like Beijing or Shanghai could offer slightly different selections or styles. Overall, W Management represents an intriguing slice of modern Chinese fashion culture. If you appreciate unique designs and are open to experimenting with unconventional fits, it's worth a visit. Just be prepared for some trial and error with sizes and styles that might differ significantly from familiar global brands.
