Philanthropic Personal Project
Every month, I save money for some kids in my neighborhood in the Philippines. I give 500 pesos each and it goes a long way there, especially for children. I can only imagine how happy they are when they receive it. I wanted to remain anonymous but my mother tells them it's from me. 😅
It's sad to realize that the money I give to some kids in the Philippines won't be fully spent on them as their parents often take it. 😔 It's pretty common in the Philippines. The money is meant for them and only for them. They can spend it however they want. Toys are a luxury there and something they don't really have. I'd expect them to use the money for toys. I had no one to give me such an amount when I was younger so this is my way of giving back and making kids happy. They are only kids for a short time and I want them to enjoy being kids.
I guess they're too young to manage it but I know the parents will use it for personal reasons. I don't do that to my kid. He sometimes receives cash on birthdays and Christmas but I don't take it and spend it for my own use. I let him decide what to do with it.
