During my two-week trip to China, I found that the country's diversity is truly remarkable. Beyond the popular cities, there are hidden gems and unique cultural experiences worth exploring. For example, Zhangjiajie impressed me with its breathtaking natural landscapes, perfect for nature lovers and photographers alike. Planning an itinerary to include Beijing, Xi’an, Zhangjiajie, and Shanghai provides a well-rounded experience of both China’s rich history and its rapid modernization. Beijing offers iconic historical sites like the Forbidden City and the Great Wall, while Xi’an invites you to marvel at the Terracotta Warriors. Zhangjiajie’s towering sandstone pillars inspired the scenery in the movie Avatar, making it a must-visit for adventure seekers. Traveling in China can feel seamless with the efficient high-speed trains connecting major cities, allowing you to maximize your time. Local cuisine is another highlight—be sure to try regional dishes such as Peking duck in Beijing and Xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) in Shanghai. For anyone curious about what to visit in China or seeking travel inspiration for Asia, I highly recommend embracing the unexpected and exploring beyond the typical tourist spots. This journey showed me why China is a traveler’s dream that deserves more recognition alongside other Asian destinations.
