Does this marriage stereotype bug you?

Lately, I can’t scroll TikTok without seeing someone say this: Women marry the love of their lives, but men? They just marry whoever’s around when they feel ready to settle like when they hit a certain age and think okay time to tie the knot.

I’ve seen so many posts pushing that same thing about women marry for love, men marry for convenience. No feelings involved, just checking a box. It feels like such a broad brush like every guy out there is just picking a partner on a whim, not because they actually care.

But I never hear guys weigh in on this. Do they think it’s total bs? Do some actually agree? Is there any truth to it, or is it just another social media take that got blown out of proportion? If you’re a guy, does this stereotype bug you?

This stereotype is so annoying! Most people marry cause they actually care about their partner not just to “check a box.”

Marriage can feel exhausting, especially when you’re raising a big family, or honestly, even a small one. It’s easy to grow tired. It’s easy to grow complacent. And if we’re not careful, that’s where resentment quietly starts to grow. What I’ve learned is this: love can’t just live in words. It
