Questioning Student Advisors

I don’t know if it is just my college or if it is just me, but I haven’t heard from my advisor not once since I first started about 2 years ago. Does anyone else have this issue? Has anyone had constant communication with their student advisor without you initiating the contact? #collegediary #lemon8contest #letschat #school #college

Many students express concerns about the lack of contact from their advisors, which can lead to feelings of isolation and uncertainty. Building a strong rapport with your advisor can significantly enhance your college experience. Engaging in regular meetings can help address academic queries, track progress, and provide accountability. Moreover, it's vital for institutions to recognize the importance of advisor-student relationships and ensure advisors are accessible for all students, particularly those who may need guidance. Students are encouraged to reach out proactively to their advisors and pave the way for open discussions. Sharing experiences and feedback within student communities can foster understanding and improve advisor services for everyone. Ultimately, having a trusted advisor can make a substantial difference in navigating the complexities of college life.

I mean I have a good advisor but she likes to put heavy classes on all of us and try to push us too far into something and I’m like “I’m ok with just this” so I only really go to her when it requires me at the beginning of each semester. I mostly pick my own classes and how I want to take them
