What chores are your 8-10 yr olds Doing?

🗣️CALLING ALL MOMS: 🚨

What chores do you have your 8-10 yr olds doing ?

At this age, I have my son emtying the dishwasher, cleaning his bathroom(the toilet, counter, and mirror), vacuuming the stairs, taking out the trash, and helping rinse and wash dishes. Bringing down the towels and wash clothes, also pillow cases.

What are some other chores I can give him? Any advice?

... Read moreAs children aged 8-10 begin to develop a sense of responsibility, involving them in household chores can be a great way to build essential life skills. This age is perfect for teaching kids about cleanliness and the importance of contributing to the family unit. Here are some effective chores that parents can assign to their children: 1. **Organizing their own rooms**: Encourage them to keep their rooms tidy, which helps instill a sense of ownership and cleanliness. 2. **Laundry tasks**: From sorting clothes to folding laundry, children can learn about responsibilities associated with managing household tasks. 3. **Helping with meal prep**: Simple tasks like washing vegetables or setting the table can enhance their cooking skills and understanding of nutrition. 4. **Gardening**: If you have a garden, getting kids involved in planting flowers or vegetables teaches them about nature and can be a fun outdoor activity. 5. **Pet care**: Assigning simple pet care tasks like feeding or walking the dog instills empathy and care for animals. By recognizing their capabilities and empowering them to take on these chores, you help them develop work ethic, accountability, and essential life skills that will benefit them in the long run. Moreover, discussing these expectations openly can lead to discussions about personal responsibility and teamwork within the family. Emphasizing praise and support when they complete chores can also motivate them to engage consistently.

Chores for My 4 & 2 Year Olds
