Affordable Stay in Chengdu’s Prime Area?! 🐼

Stayed 4 nights at Sfeel Hotel in Chengdu Taikooli and overall had a really pleasant experience.

The biggest highlight is definitely the location — it’s right opposite IFS, with plenty of shops and hotpot restaurants just downstairs. Everything is within walking distance, including Taikooli and Chunxi Road, which made exploring super convenient. You can even rent a bicycle with the Alipay app and cycle your way there the local style!

Service in the hotel was also excellent. The staff were consistently friendly and welcoming, always greeting us with a smile. Special shoutout to Ms Wu, who went above and beyond to help me with my Taobao returns and was always cheerful and attentive to our requests.

On our first night, we were given a room at the end of the corridor which felt quite stuffy. We requested for a change, and the team arranged a switch the next day to a slightly bigger room near the reception which was a lot more comfortable and made the rest of our stay so much better. Really appreciated how well they handled this.

The hotel offers complimentary coffee daily, which was a nice touch, and the room was comfortable overall throughout our stay.

A few minor downsides: the room is slightly on the smaller side and it can get a bit noisy if your room faces the main road. Also, there’s no mini fridge in the room, which might be inconvenient for some.

I booked this stay through Trip app and in total it cost me $279.02 for 5 nights, which is super affordable considering it's in the prime location. If you haven't download the Trip app, don't forget to key in the code VU17FG to redeem a welcome pack of up to $68!

Overall, still a great stay for the price and location. I would definitely recommend if you want to be in the heart of Chengdu. Save this post for your next trip!

... Read moreHaving stayed for multiple nights at Sfeel Hotel, I can share some additional insights that might help future travelers make the most of their visit to Chengdu. One unique aspect of staying in the Taikooli area is how pedestrian-friendly and lively the neighborhood is. Renting a bicycle through the Alipay app not only provides affordable local transportation but also allows you to immerse yourself in the city’s everyday rhythm. You can zip through nearby streets and easily reach cultural landmarks or quiet tea shops to balance out the bustling shopping zones. While the hotel's rooms are comfortable, I found that choosing a room away from the main road is key to a peaceful night's sleep. The team was very accommodating in switching my original stuffy room to a more spacious one near reception, which made a big difference. If you plan to stay here, consider requesting a room not directly facing the street. Also, don’t underestimate the small touches like the daily complimentary coffee — it became a morning ritual that set a cozy tone before stepping out to explore. Although there’s no mini fridge, the proximity to restaurants and convenience stores meant I didn’t miss it much. Booking through the Trip app was straightforward, and applying the VU17FG code gave a nice little welcome pack, making the overall cost highly affordable for such a central location. For travelers prioritizing location and value, Sfeel Hotel in Chengdu’s Taikooli district offers an authentic urban experience without breaking the bank.
