Starting with a double shot of espresso paired with a Fairlife protein shake helped kickstart my energy. For lunch, I enjoyed a Costco rotisserie chicken plate accompanied by fries, baked beans, coleslaw, and potato salad—comfort food but with some balance from the protein and veggies. Later, I had a mix of butter lettuce, cucumber kimchi, and baked eggplant topped with ground beef, which provided a satisfying dose of fiber and nutrients. However, the challenge came with the munchies after taking 'one,' which led me to snack more than I intended—four bowls of strawberries were actually the better choice, but then the sneaky Cheetos puffs and desserts like a sugar-free fudge bar and a piece of brownie along with cottage cheese added up. From this experience, I’ve realized the importance of not only being cautious about timing but also ensuring I’m full and distracted when indulging. Watching a movie or being engaged seems to help manage impulsive eating better. Tracking my intake made me realize it wasn’t a deficit day by any means, and though I rated my day 4/10 overall, it’s a reminder that mindful eating is a journey. My 8,000 steps helped counterbalance some of the extra calories, reinforcing my commitment to staying active. If you’re like me, juggling healthy meals with moments of indulgence, just remember it’s about moderation, awareness, and learning from each day’s experience. Sometimes it’s okay to have a less-than-perfect day, as long as you keep trying and listen to your body’s signals.
