⭐️Overall rating: 3/5

The writing was good, and I was invested in the characters and the world building.

However, I think I would have enjoyed this more if I had read the first book before the prequel? I’m going to eventually continue this series, and I think I’ll value knowing some more of the background on the characters.

What I did like was that, due to the books length, I was able to tell if I would like this writers style. I was hesitant to start a new series, but this helped me feel more comfortable taking that dive.
