My dorm before and after cleaning 😩

When I first moved into my dorm, I quickly realized how challenging it was to keep everything tidy, especially right by the door. This instantly cleared up floor space and made grabbing my everyday sneakers so much easier. For jackets and bags, I added strong adhesive hooks to the back of my door and inside my closet, utilizing vertical space that was otherwise wasted. This helped keep my clothes off the bed and created a designated spot for everything, just like a mudroom's coat rack. My desk area also needed a major overhaul. It was a magnet for empty cans and random papers. I learned to treat it like a 'command center.' Instead of letting things pile up, I got some small organizers for pens, chargers, and notes. Having a small trash can right next to my desk (thanks to my roommate, COLTEE, who helped get my trash out!) made a huge difference in preventing those monster cans from accumulating. The vanity area was another challenge, with makeup and hair tools spread everywhere. I found stackable drawers and clear containers that fit perfectly under my counter and on my shelves. This made it easy to see everything and put it away, finally getting all my makeup organized. Even my messy dorm closet transformed with some simple shelving units and storage drawers for folded clothes and accessories. By implementing these 'mudroom-inspired' solutions, focusing on designated spots for everything, and utilizing every inch of vertical space, my dorm went from cluttered chaos to a clean, organized, and functional haven. It's amazing how much more relaxed and productive I feel now that my space is streamlined.
