Movies That Inspired My Style

1. MOXIE, 2021

⭐️Rate: 7/10

🎬Review: I think that this movie is going to wind people up. Whichis hilarious because that is the whole point of the movie to get under peoples skin and make them think.

Most people that see this film and dislike it are going to do so beoause they see them selfs reflected in the people the movie is talking about.

I think that this movie will really be an empowering movie for teenage girLots of films try to do this but i think that this movie succeeds where others don't becausse it doesn't pander to its audience. It was grounded for the most part.

Some characters did border on cartoony, which brings me to my biggest issue with the movie. The actor of Mitchell. He wasn't a very good actor anyway but the worst pat was how old he looked. He is nearly 30 and i know that this happens in lots of shows and ovie and probably he isn't the only one not playing his age in this movie. The issue is that he just stuck out like a sore thumb. Every time he was on screen i was like "Oh there is an adult man". It was just incredibly distracting. He was meant to be 16?

Another small issue i had was the back end to the second act and the beginning of the third. It seemed to lose its focus and fell off the tracks a little bitfor me

Thankfully it finds its way when it begins to wrap the movie up. I think the ending is really great, i do wish it wasn't over as abruptly. I think this could have been fixed by trimming the movie down and then just giving a few of them minutes to the end.

This movie was really good and i think that people should see it. Ido however think that this movie is going to get a lot of hate and bad reviews because it is afeminist movie so make sure you watch it and support it.

2. ROMA, 2018

⭐️Rate: 9/10

🎬Review: It took me a good while to settle into the rhythms of Alfonso Cuaron's crially acclaimed new film, and by the time I did I wanted to go back and start it over to see might have missed. A lot comes at the viewer in "Roma," and it's hard to take itall in on a first viewing. No...that's the wrong way to put it. Nothing comes at you -- you have to go after it. Thatwhat makes "Roma' unique. Cuaron crams his frame in any given scene with tons of movementand sound, but he shoots almost everything in medium and long shots and chooses tto pan his camera rather than insert a lot of edits. The result is you have to decide what you want to look at, and while the main protagonist is in virtually every scene, she's not always necessarily the focal point.

That protagonist, by the way, is Cleo, maid to a wealthy family and playeda quiet and quietly devastating performance by Yalitza Aparicio. "Roma" is an episodic assemblage of scenes that shows what life is like for Cleo, without big showy emoticonal moments or much editorializing She's treated fairly well by the family she works for, but make no mistakethey rarely let her forget she's their employee. The film is a lot about privilege. The familyts Cleo as one of their own when they feel like it or when it's convenient to, but don't when it'sShe's part of their most intimate moments and they her's, but she'll never really be orhe of them. She has much to take care of, but nothing of her own to really care for. And there's a big wide world out there, the movie makes clear, that will never include people like Cleo

For a while I was a little disappointed that I wasn't feeling "Roma"as much as I wanted to and as much as rapturous reviews led me to believe I would. I was engaged by it, but I didn't feel heavily involved emotionally. But then pretty far into the movie something happensto Cleo, and in that moment I realized how invested I was in how things turned out for her. "Roha" sneaks up on you in that way

3. MEANSGIRLS, 2004

⭐️Rate: 8/10

🎬Review: This movie is an easy one to enjoy over and over again. I think how funny ou find the story is relative to your age. As someone newly out of high school, I can tell you that the high school clicks portrayed in this film are a bit far-fetched. I have never heard someone say "you can't sit with us" or of being called "too gay to function". This movvie is still simply witty and smart with a story line that is far different from the main stream movies that come out today.

4. TICKET to PARADISE, 2022

⭐️Rate: 5/10

🎬Review: "Ticket to Paradise" is the clear example that the trailer is better than the movie itself. The script does not bring anything new to romantic comedies, it rushes to take the already known formula and fill the plot with the typical clichés. Julia Roberts and GeorgeClooney offer simple performances without much charm, the secondary characters are more endearing as is the case with Wren Butler played by Billie Lourd. The filming locations are extraordinary and the cinematography makes them look even more beautiful. Returning to the script, it fails to catch on and as entertainment it doesn't go that far either. One of the worst moments is the terrible CGI with which a dolphin that appears on the screen for a fevw seconds was created. Movie to see once and not repeat.
