Progress isn’t linear!
Since retiring from track & field, I have no reason to train at the volumes I used to. With that, there’s a shift in priority when it comes to training and I have lost some strength in the process.
But what I lost in strength, I have built back 10x over in technique. Soon the strength will follow. Just gotta keep consistent and let the results come on their own.
Follow along to share our progress!
Adjusting to changes in training priorities can be challenging, especially after transitioning from competitive athletics like track & field. It's crucial to recognize that the journey toward improvement is not always linear. For athletes, maintaining consistent training routines post-retirement can help rebuild not just strength but also fundamental skills. Incorporating exercises such as power snatches into your regimen can aid in developing explosive strength and technique. Engaging in different training methods also fosters adaptability in athletes. Furthermore, social support and sharing progress with the community can enhance motivation. Various programs and resources are available for those involved in sports, particularly for women in strength training. Participating in discussions online and viewing trending hashtags like #strongwomen and #trainingforpower can provide additional insights. Remember, progress may take time, but with enduring consistency and the right focus, results will follow. Stay motivated and keep training!
