Spending money on ingredients and cooking at home to have more instead of buying it once and craving it again the next day 🥴🤦🏽‍♀️I spent around $31.00 on everything and me and my husband has eaten it 4 times. Unbigging my back one meal at a time. 😂 Everything was bought at Aldi and Walmart.😊

I used to crave those delicious, customizable bowls all the time, but my wallet was definitely feeling the pinch. That's why I decided to take matters into my own hands and recreate the magic of Cava right in my own kitchen. And let me tell you, it's been a game-changer for my budget and my meal prep routine! Making your own Cava-style bowl is surprisingly easy and incredibly rewarding. First things first, that perfectly seasoned chicken is key! I usually marinate my chicken breast in a simple mix of olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper for at least 30 minutes, then grill or pan-sear it until it's cooked through and slightly charred. Slice it up for easy topping. Next, for the base, I love using a fresh romaine greens mix, but you can also go for rice or a mix of both. Then come the vibrant toppings! The corn adds a lovely sweetness and crunch. And of course, you can't forget the creamy textures: the tangy feta crumbles and a generous drizzle of the Tzatziki sauce (which you can easily find pre-made or whip up yourself with Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, and dill). Warm up some pita bread on the side or chop it into pieces for a delicious crunch. One of my absolute favorite Cava toppings, and a must-have for that authentic flavor, is the pickled onions. They add such a fantastic pop of color and tang! While I sometimes buy them, they're super simple to make at home. Just thinly slice a red onion, pack it into a jar, and pour over a warm mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar, a pinch of salt, and a teaspoon of sugar. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes (or better yet, overnight in the fridge) for those vibrant, tasty onions. They're a game-changer! To really round out your Cava at home experience and add more protein and fiber, consider adding black beans. They're a staple on the Cava menu and so easy to prepare. Keep an eye out for their dairy sections for feta crumbles and Tzatziki sauce. Sometimes, you can even find unique dressings or marinades that mimic Cava's flavors.
