i was kind of worried this weigh in when i saw 298 on the scale, knowing i’d been down to 294. i’ve noticed, though, it seems like my first few days of the week after my injection i drop a ton of weight and then i slowly gain some back over the course of the week. still lost basically 5 pounds in the week overall!!
i’m so proud of myself for getting and staying under 300, the lowest i’ve gotten to weight wise on my own was 290. the fact that im almost there again, and probably will go even lower this time, is so exciting. i’m so excited for my journey.

It's so easy to get discouraged by those little ups and downs, but I've been learning to see the bigger picture of my weight loss journey. What I've noticed, especially since starting Zepbound, is that my weight isn't a straight line down. It's more like a zig-zag. For me, it seems like the first few days after my injection, I see a significant drop, and then it slowly creeps back up a little during the week. Understanding this pattern has been a game-changer for my mindset. It helps me remember that one single weigh-in doesn't define my entire week's effort or progress.
That's why focusing on the weekly average or overall trend, and celebrating milestones, is so crucial. Seeing that I've maintained being under 300 pounds for a sustained period, and even achieved 'Milestone goal 4,' is incredibly motivating. It's not just about the number on a specific day, but the consistent progress over time. My weight tracking chart for July 2024, showing weights ranging from 302.9 down to 294.7 pounds, really visualizes this journey. It's proof that even with minor daily fluctuations, the overall trajectory is downwards.
Speaking of Zepbound, it's been such an integral part of my progress. For anyone considering or on a GLP-1 weight loss medication, understanding how it works with your body and managing expectations around weight fluctuations is key. It's not a magic bullet, but it's a powerful tool that helps with appetite regulation and feeling fuller longer, making those healthy eating choices a bit easier. I still focus on making good food choices and staying active, but it feels like I finally have a true partner in this battle.
Beyond the scale, I've started focusing on non-scale victories (NSVs). Do my clothes fit better? Do I have more energy? Am I sleeping better? These are just as important, if not more so, than the number itself. My advice for anyone on a similar path is to pick a consistent weigh-in day and time, wear similar clothes, and most importantly, don't let one number derail your entire week. Look at the data, like a moving average, if you can. It tells a much more accurate story of your hard work and dedication. This journey is a marathon, not a sprint, and every single step, even the small ones, deserves to be celebrated. I'm genuinely excited for what's next. Reaching 290 pounds was my lowest on my own before, and the thought of surpassing that this time, and going even lower, keeps me incredibly motivated. We've got this!
