3 Ingredient Kale Chips Recipe

Ingredients:

• Kale

• Olive Oil

• Salt

Directions:

1. Wash kale and dry

2. Cover in a small amount of oil, mix well.

3. Bake in the oven at 300°F for 20-30 minutes, checking and rotating the pan often. Alternatively, cook in the air fryer at 375°F for 3-5 minutes.

4. The kale chips will be done cooking once they’re crispy but not burnt. Season with salt or your favorite seasonings. Enjoy!

Additional tips: you can use ranch seasoning packets or popcorn seasoning mixes for extra flavor. If you’re using an air fryer, I recommend covering the kale with a rack (if your air fryer came with one) to prevent the kale from blowing around.

My air fryer, for example, runs a bit hot, so I often drop the temperature by 25°F or shave a minute off the cooking time initially. Always preheat your air fryer or oven! This ensures even cooking from the start. Second, don't overcrowd the basket or baking sheet. This is probably the biggest mistake I made early on. Kale needs space to breathe and crisp up, otherwise, it steams instead of bakes, and then burns unevenly. Work in batches if necessary. And remember to shake / rotate the basket or flip the kale on the baking sheet halfway through. This promotes even cooking and prevents hot spots from charring your delicious greens. Keep a close eye on them, especially in the last minute or two of air frying, as they can go from perfectly crispy to burnt very quickly! Now, let's talk flavor beyond just salt.
