my early pregnancy symptoms! 🌸✨

2024/7/1 Edited to

... Read moreFollowing up on my initial post about discovering my pregnancy so early, I wanted to dive deeper into the real symptoms I've been experiencing from those first few weeks right up to 8 weeks. It's truly wild how quickly your body starts to change, and how different these early signs can be for everyone! First off, the exhaustion is absolutely real. It started for me around 4-5 weeks, and it's not just regular tiredness; it's a bone-deep fatigue that makes you want to nap at any given moment. I felt like I could sleep for days, even after a full night's rest. This feeling of being constantly drained, or 'sleepiness' as some have described it, was one of my most prominent early clues. My appetite changes have been a rollercoaster. While I initially mentioned a lack of appetite, there have also been days where I've experienced a surprising increased appetite, especially for specific cravings. It's not always about morning sickness; sometimes it's just my body demanding more energy to grow a tiny human. I've learned to listen to my body's signals, whether it's wanting a big meal or just a small, bland snack. One symptom that surprised me was the increased vaginal discharge. I noticed it quite early on, around 4 weeks, and it sometimes resembled what's called 'egg white discharge.' It's a natural part of pregnancy as your body's hormones surge and blood flow increases. It's good to know these things are normal, even if they're not always openly discussed! The sensitive and sore breasts were another early indicator. My breasts became incredibly tender and felt heavier, almost like they were bruised, starting around 4 weeks pregnant. It was definitely more intense and persistent than any pre-period tenderness I'd ever experienced, making even a light touch uncomfortable. This 'tender breast pregnancy' feeling is a classic early sign. Bloating and gas also made an early appearance for me. I felt constantly bloated, like my stomach was distended even after a small meal, starting around 4-5 weeks. The increased gas was an unwelcome guest, making me feel uncomfortable and self-conscious at times. It seems my digestion definitely slowed down significantly as my body started focusing on other things. Interestingly, I also noticed a slight increased libido during certain periods in my early pregnancy. It's not something I expected, especially with all the fatigue, but it just goes to show how fluctuating hormones can affect everyone differently. I also experienced some very mild cramps around 1 week before my missed period. They weren't intense like period cramps, more like a dull ache or a stretching sensation in my lower abdomen. This is often attributed to implantation or the uterus beginning to stretch and prepare. Later, around 4-5 weeks, I still had occasional mild twinges, which I now understand are part of the process. While I haven't had severe morning sickness, I did feel waves of nausea, especially when my stomach was empty. I know some women experience it even before a missed period, and it commonly peaks around 6 weeks, so I'm trying to stay prepared with little snacks. It's a constant reminder that my body is working hard! Every pregnancy journey is unique, and it’s fascinating to see how my body has responded. These early weeks are a whirlwind of changes, both big and small, and it's comforting to know that many of these seemingly strange symptoms are just part of the incredible process of growing life.
