Low-Cal Sweet Chili Salmon (Air Fryer)

Ingredients (2 servings)

• 2 salmon fillets (about 5–6 oz each)

• Salt and black pepper to taste

For the low-cal chili glaze:

• 3 tbsp unsalted tomato sauce (no added sugar)

• 1½ tbsp lemon juice (fresh)

• 1–2 tsp honey or a zero-cal sweetener like monk fruit/erythritol (adjust to taste)

• ½–1 tsp chili flakes or fresh minced chili (depending on heat preference)

• 1 clove garlic, minced (or ½ tsp garlic powder)

• ½ tsp low-sodium soy sauce (optional for depth)

• 2 tbsp water (to thin if needed)

Instructions

1. Make the glaze:

• In a small pan over medium heat, combine tomato sauce, lemon juice, sweetener, garlic, chili, and soy sauce.

• Simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened. Add water a spoon at a time if it gets too thick. Taste and adjust sweetness or heat.

2. Prep the salmon:

• Pat salmon fillets dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.

• Brush half of the glaze on the salmon. (Save the rest for later.)

3. Air fry:

• Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.

• Place salmon skin-side down in the basket. Cook 7–9 minutes depending on thickness (no flipping).

4. Glaze & finish:

• Brush the remaining glaze on during the last 2 minutes of cooking.

• Cook until the salmon flakes easily with a fork (internal temp ~125–130°F for medium).

5. Serve:

• Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

• Pair with roasted veggies, cauliflower rice, or a spinach salad to keep it low-carb.
