WHY REST IS SO IMPORTANT TO MAKE PROGRESS

More is not better when it comes to your fitness journey…

I used to workout 2x a day, do lots of cardio, lift weights and under eat so I wasn’t properly fueling my body which resulted in overtraining and halted my progress for years.

Here are some signs for overtraining to watch for and why overtraining can affect your progress.

Don’t make the same mistake I did.

Prioritize your sleep (aim for 7+hrs a night).

Prioritize your rest days (aim for at least 1 day a week). Eat enough to fuel your body.

This is a LIFESTYLE so do what makes you FEEL good.

... Read moreRest and recovery are vital components of any successful fitness routine. Many struggle with the idea that more is always better, leading to overtraining. Overtraining can significantly hinder performance, increase the risk of injuries, and cause emotional challenges such as irritability and anxiety. If you find yourself experiencing consistent fatigue, loss of appetite, or sleep disturbances, it may be a sign that you need to reassess your training approach. Aim for at least 7 hours of quality sleep each night and ensure you take at least one rest day per week. Nutrition plays a pivotal role in this recovery process as well; without adequate fuel, your body cannot rebuild and strengthen itself. Incorporating balanced meals with sufficient calories will support your energy levels and performance when you train. Remember, this is a lifestyle change, and prioritizing your health will lead to sustainable progress in the long run.
