Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving from fragrant Derek
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! It’s such a special time of year, isn't it? I just wanted to share a little bit about what this day means to me and send out some warm wishes to all of you. For me, Thanksgiving is truly about pausing, taking a deep breath, and reflecting on all the amazing blessings in my life. It’s not just about the delicious food (though that’s definitely a highlight!), but more about the joy of being surrounded by loved ones. This year, we've been so lucky with the weather – it's been absolutely great! Perfect for a crisp autumn walk before the big meal, or just sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful fall colors. Sometimes, just having a clear, sunny day makes all the difference in lifting your spirits and making you feel extra grateful. I always think about the simple traditions that make Thanksgiving so memorable. Whether it's helping out in the kitchen, watching the parade, or just sharing stories around the dinner table, these moments are truly precious. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with family and friends, some of whom you might not see very often throughout the year. What are some of your favorite Thanksgiving traditions? I love hearing how different families celebrate. For us, it’s usually a big potluck, where everyone brings their signature dish. My personal favorite to make is a sweet potato casserole with a pecan topping – it’s always a crowd-pleaser! And of course, there’s always room for pie, or two, or three! Beyond the food and festivities, the core of Thanksgiving for me is gratitude. It’s an intentional practice of acknowledging the good things, big and small. From the roof over my head to the laughter of my friends, the simple act of being thankful makes everything feel so much richer. Even on days when things are tough, there's always something to appreciate. So, as we gather today, I hope you all have an amazing day filled with warmth, love, and great company. May your hearts be full, your plates be piled high, and your spirits be bright. Sending my very best wishes for a truly happy and memorable Thanksgiving! What are you most thankful for this year?
