Okay ladies WIC
So I’m pregnant right just got wic for the 1st time my boyfriend does have it but his daughter is 7m old. So he doesn’t get things for himself just her.
(This is my 1st pregnancy)
I went to the store and was really confused about certain things. I tested it out for the 1st time and I let my bfs mom go back use my card to get whatever else I missed.
I realize shopping for fruits was kinda confusing since they don’t exactly tell you exactly what fruits and veggies are allowed the app when I scanned said things like baby spinach wasn’t allowed nor are anything bagged like a bag of apples everything is individually.
I got frozen peaches, blueberries, strawberries & bananas. Brussel sprouts 🥰
fresh fruit I ended up getting 3 oranges and an avocado… so those items were allowed
His mom went back she said she got me Honeydew, mangos and frozen mixed vegetables.
Mind you when I scanned on the app for the honeydew they told me it wasn’t a wic item so I put it back.
What kind of fruits and vegetables are we actually able to get since they aren’t very direct on exactly what I’m able to get.. I still want my spinach but I’m not sure if I go back if they would allow it. What about a bag of cherries or grapes because when I scanned that too they said Not allowed.. this whole process is just a bit more stressful than i thought it would’ve been and the way they set the app up doesn’t help much. It also said I only had $8 left on the app after what I got. But his mom after she got me more things. She said I have about $20 in fruit and vegetables left which I’m so confused how she even knew that(yes I’m asking her too). Because I definitely did not know that. I thought I had way less than what was still Available!
How do yall find out these things?!
What about canned fruits?
Melons?
Lettuce or a bag of spinach?

Also, when your receipt prints, it’ll tell you what you started with, what you used and what you have left. They can be a little hard to read though, so I definitely suggest asking your local office if they offer an app.
