Regrowing WIC vegetables ✨

The kids and I have been loving collecting our scrap veggies and attempting to regrow them. Now we wait and let’s see how they do. What makes it even better is these are all items we have gotten on WIC to regrow. Great Idea to try with your littles for our WIC families. 🤗

By utilizing items on WIC, you can not only save money but also encourage children to take an interest in gardening and nature. Here are some vegetables you can easily regrow at home: 1. **Romaine Lettuce**: Simply place the base in a bowl of water and watch it sprout new leaves within a week. 2. **Garlic**: Place a single clove in a pot with soil, and soon you’ll have fresh garlic shoots for culinary use. 3. **Green Onions**: Cut the roots from green onions and place them in water—change the water regularly for continuous growth. 4. **Celery**: Similar to romaine, placing the base in water will regenerate new stalks over time. 5. **Cabbage**: Use the core of cabbage, place it in a bowl of water, and it will start new growth. Engaging children in gardening activities can instill a sense of responsibility and a deep appreciation for food sources. Additionally, regrowing vegetables provides an opportunity to teach kids about nutrition and the importance of environmentally-friendly practices. So, gather those scraps and turn them into fresh greens for your family!

If you get snap/EBT go to the garden section and buy some live edible plants. Bonnie and expert garden is what you get on EBT if it's edible. hth someone. 🫶🏾
