🎨 This week, I got a DM that honestly shocked me.

A follower asked which Pocket Palette she should buy because she was analyzed as “Deep” 🤔

No undertone.

No home season.

Just… Deep.

Here’s why it’s a problem — and why you should be cautious:

✨ Flow palettes (like Deep) do NOT replace a home season.

“Deep” is a subseason — a flow between Autumn and Winter. You can NOT land a flow without your home season.

It only makes sense when paired with your home season.

Because:

• A Deep Autumn styles completely differently from a Deep Winter

• Your home season determines your jewelry tone

• Your home season defines your makeup finishes

• Your home season sets your contrast level

• Your home season guides how you combine colors in outfits

• Your chroma, value, and temperature all depend on your home season first

Your entire styling logic — wardrobe, accessories, makeup is influenced by your home season.

So getting only “Deep” without context is like receiving half of the alphabet and being told to write a novel.

Please be very mindful about who you choose for your color analysis.

If you’re working within the 16-season system, you must receive:

✔️ Your undertone

✔️ Your home season

✔️ Your subseason (flow)

Anything less is incompetent and incomplete — and will misguide you later.

If you want a proper, accurate, fully structured analysis that will support your styling long-term…

... Read moreIf you've ever been explored through color analysis, you may have heard terms like "Deep," "Autumn," ‘‘Winter," or "subseason." However, understanding these terms fully is crucial to making your style choices truly harmonious and flattering. One critical aspect is recognizing that "Deep" is a flow palette, a subset of the broader 16-season system, sitting between Autumn and Winter. But "Deep" alone does not provide the complete story of your color profile. Without identifying your home season first, the nuances that shape your individual look—such as undertones, contrast levels, and even jewelry preferences—remain unknown. For instance, a Deep Autumn and a Deep Winter will have significantly different styling cues. Deep Autumns may favor warmer tones with gold jewelry and richer matte makeup finishes, while Deep Winters lean toward cooler, clearer shades and silver accessories with shimmery makeup textures. Your home season essentially sets the baseline for your entire color strategy, influencing everything from your wardrobe base colors to the subtle details like combining colors and makeup finishes. Ignoring the home season can lead to confusion and missteps. It's akin to having half an alphabet and being asked to write a novel—your style might feel disjointed, and your choices may not complement your natural coloring fully. This is why a comprehensive color analysis includes three clear steps: 1) Understanding your undertone, 2) Identifying your home season, and 3) Pinpointing your subseason or flow. Additionally, be cautious about quick analyses that only tag you with a flow palette like "Deep" without context. These incomplete assessments may not only misguide your style but could make you overlook colors and tones that truly enhance your natural beauty. If you’re serious about long-term styling success, consider investing in a full color analysis from a competent expert who follows the complete 16-season methodology. Accurate knowledge of your undertone, home season, and subseason can empower you to build cohesive outfits, select makeup that highlights your features, and choose accessories that sync perfectly with your natural palette. By approaching color analysis with the right structure, you can enjoy a wardrobe that feels authentic and looks polished every day. Remember, understanding your full color profile unlocks the true potential of your style and personal expression.
