( Get Baby To Sleep The ENTIRE Flight )
I was terrified to take my 6 1/2 month old on her VERY first flight. So scared that the anxiety settled in while waiting in line to board 🤦🏾♀️. She did an amazing job and slept completely through the entire flight to and from Florida.
• Here are some tips I used to ensure a smooth flight
⭐️1. Try and get your flights around babies sleep/nap time.
This makes sleeping a natural part of the day during the flight and they have the comfort of being in your arms for a while without being moved.
⭐️2. Make sure baby is fully fed and has comfy clothing on. This is obvious I think but I made sure she ate while we were waiting to board the flight. She was fully fed and falling asleep as we walked on the plane.
⭐️3. Booking with southwest they allow family boarding so anyone who has a child under 6 years old gets to board after the A group this was a life changer me and my fiancé had no worries and I was comfy. So baby was able to sleep back and forth with mom and dad.
⭐️4. Overpack that diaper bag I felt like I gad her whole life in that bag but I used every single thing from toys to bibs to diaper cream!

Traveling with a baby can be daunting, but with proper planning, you can make the experience enjoyable for both of you. First, consider scheduling flights during nap times—this aligns with your baby's natural sleep cycles and promotes comfort. Additionally, ensure your baby is well-fed and dressed in cozy clothes. A satisfied and comfortable baby is more likely to drift off to sleep. Utilize family boarding options, which can minimize stress and give you extra time. For instance, Southwest Airlines offers this service, allowing families to board after the first group, ensuring you have adequate time to settle in. Don’t forget to overpack your diaper bag! Include toys, blankets, snacks, and other necessities to keep your baby entertained and comfortable. Also, consider investing in a baby carrier for easy movement through the airport. This can be particularly handy while navigating through crowds or when using public transport. Lastly, keep some soothing items within reach—such as a pacifier or a favorite blanket— to help lull your baby to sleep. With these tips, you’ll be better prepared to manage the challenges of flying with a little one, making travel a pleasant experience for your family.
