The perspective change this illness has given me for the little things is something I am so grateful for💕🫶🏼 #pots #chronicillness #healthjourney #healingjourney #ootd
Living with a chronic illness like POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) changes your perspective on everyday activities. I've found that tasks I once took for granted—like showering, exercising, and even getting ready—become meaningful milestones. For example, using a recumbent bike helped me gently build stamina without overwhelming my body. I also learned to appreciate tools that make self-care more manageable. Using a Dyson Airwrap to style my hair felt like reclaiming some normalcy and control. Small treats like a Pink Drink from Starbucks and walks around the mall with my mom became moments of joy and connection, reinforcing the importance of pacing myself while maintaining social activities. Progress is gradual but incredibly rewarding. A year ago, the idea of working out or caring for myself independently seemed distant. Now, each step forward is a win, even if it requires more effort than for others. I’m focusing on building energy around driving consistently, knowing that patience and small achievements pave the way to greater independence. For others facing chronic illnesses, I recommend celebrating every small victory and finding gentle ways to keep moving forward. Embrace tools and routines that support your wellness journey and remember that gratitude for simple pleasures can bring healing and hope along the way.
