Conflict Avoidance ✨

Ghosting happens when someone avoids the emotional consequences of their choices. It’s not that they didn’t know what to say — it’s that they didn’t want to be responsible for the impact.

Psychology calls this conflict avoidance paired with low emotional maturity. Silence is not confusion. It’s communication. It says, “I lack the capacity to show up emotionally.” Closure doesn’t always come from words. Sometimes it comes from behavior.

I get why people say that, but ghosting often creates more confusion than closure. Real closure usually comes from clarity, not silence.

When feelings are minimized.
When she reaches… and is met with defensiveness, avoidance, or denial.
