Easy Bread Recipe

I’m still pretty new to bread making. This is a basic yeast bread recipe that I found that has produced good homemade bread every time, including my very first try. I still have a lot to learn, but this recipe is easy enough for all of us newbies. Recipe was from Living Country Style (if you’re on this platform let me know and I will tag you).

Don't be afraid to add a tiny bit more water if your dough feels too stiff, especially if you're using a stand mixer – just be careful not to make it soupy! Also, a good, long knead, whether by machine or kneaded by hand, develops the gluten structure, which is crucial for that perfect texture. Next, pay close attention to your proofing process. The first rise and second rise are critical. Don't rush them! Letting the dough develop slowly, especially in a slightly cooler spot, can build more complex flavors. You'll know it's ready for baking when it's significantly increased in size and passes the 'poke test' (gently poke it; if the indentation slowly springs back, it's good). For that beautiful golden-brown crust, don't skimp on steam during the initial baking. You can achieve this at home by placing a pan of hot water in the bottom of your oven or spraying the oven walls. Brushing the top with a little melted butter after it comes out gives that glossy, butter-brushed top and enhances the aroma.
