... Read moreRaising chickens at home can be both a rewarding and educational experience for children and families. When my child expressed a desire to care for chickens, we decided to take a unique approach by using store-bought eggs as a starting point. Although these eggs typically aren't fertilized and may not hatch, the process itself sparked enthusiasm and curiosity in my child. We explored incubating techniques, learning about the right temperature and humidity levels needed. This hands-on project became an excellent opportunity to teach patience, responsibility, and basic biology principles. Along the way, we also connected with other Thai families in Canada through online forums and social groups like #สะใภ้แคนาดา🇨🇦 and #คนไทยในแคนาดา🇨🇦🇹🇭, who shared tips and encouragement. Using store-bought eggs brought surprises—while most didn't hatch, the effort inspired us to visit local farms and eventually get fertilized eggs. This journey not only nurtured my child's love for animals but also strengthened our family bond and cultural community ties. For anyone considering a similar adventure, I recommend starting with research, joining supportive communities, and embracing the learning curve—it’s truly worth it for the memories and knowledge gained.

The answer is yes, and I hope my chickens appreciate all the works that’s gone into this coop, because it’s getting out of hand. Also I promise, we are going to get chickens… but we didn’t want to get them and then leave on vacation, so we will get them as soon as we get home! But in the meantime….

I honestly didn’t think this would work either… but look at that, painting your fence black really does make it look more or less “invisible”. What should I try to do to my chicken coop or yard next?!? #DIY #chickencoop #farming

Ever hear these phrases and feel small?
I used to hear these “normal” phrases all the time and didn’t realize how much they were hurting me. 💔 Over time, I noticed I was doubting myself, hiding my feelings, and feeling guilty for simply being me. That’s when I knew: these words weren’t okay, and I deserved better. Healing means recogn

A person takes a mirror selfie, lifting their gray sweatshirt to reveal their midsection. The image has text overlay "Fasting VS. Starving" and the Lemon8 logo with username.
A plate holds a meal of chicken pupu, white rice, and sliced cucumbers, with a fork beside it. Text defines "Fasting: Low calories for less than two weeks" and "Starving: Low calories for MORE than two weeks."
A plate of organic mini cinnamon rolls with icing is shown. Text defines "Fasting: You have energy" and "Starving: You have very LOW energy," with a plant in the background.
How long can you go without eating?
And when you finally have a meal, what is it? The key difference between starving and fasting is what you choose to eat when you finally have a meal. Many think fasting means eating less, but it’s really about eating what’s required (and sometimes more). You’re only spacing your meals out to al
