Recipe for breastfeeding mamas

I was having a really hard time because my milk decided to drop from making 3 ounces on one side at a time to not even a full ounce I could barely get probably about .3 ounces nothing I was doing was working and I was on the verge of having a mental breakdown and I probably did shed a few you tears about it but then I found this recipe and I tweaked it to my liking. I’m not gonna lie after eating a few of these for breakfast(2) it help so much! I’m not fully back to where are used to be but I am at least 2 ounces for right now and that was a few days ago that I had my dip! Im no lactation consultant just sharing my new favorite milk making muffins.

Mama Here's the recipe to my favorite Milk Making Muffins

350 degrees for 25-28 minutes

What you need

-1 cup of flour

-1 TSP baking soda

-2 TBSP flack seed

-2 TBSP brewers yeast

-pinch of salt

-3-4 ripe bananas

-1/2 cup of coconut oil(melted)

-1 tsp Vanilla

-1 egg

-1/2 cup of oats

-ALOT of chocolate chips

-1 cup of sugar

-2 Bowls

Instructions

(Add in Bowl 1)

Flour,Baking soda,Flack Seed, Brewers Yeast, and salt then mix together

(Add in Bowl 2)

3-4 Ripe bananas(mash them), Melted Coconut Oil,Vanilla, 1 Egg and mix all together

ADD BOWL 2 TO BOWL 1 AND MIX

THEN ADD TO THE COMBINED MIXURE

Oats, A lot of chocolate chips I prefer dark but its up to you, and the sugar.

mix everything together then put into cupcake tins an d bake in the oven.

Flaxseed, another powerhouse, provides essential fatty acids (like Omega-3s) and phytoestrogens that can also aid lactation and overall maternal health. And of course, oats are a classic and widely recognized galactagogue, known for their ability to nourish and support nursing mothers, often attributed to their iron content and beta-glucan fiber. To get the most out of these milk-making muffins, I usually aim for two a day, especially in the mornings or as a mid-afternoon snack. Don't be afraid to experiment with the amount of chocolate chips – dark chocolate is my favorite, but semi-sweet works too! For storage, these breast milk muffins freeze beautifully. I often make a big batch, let them cool completely, and then pop them in an airtight container or freezer bag. Then, I just grab one or two to thaw as needed, either on the counter or a quick zap in the microwave. It’s such a lifesaver when you're short on time and need a quick, nutritious boost. Remember, consistency is key! While these muffins are a fantastic tool for boosting your milk supply, it’s also important to remember overall hydration and frequent nursing or pumping. Think of these muffins as a delicious, natural boost to your existing efforts. Everyone's body is different, so what works for one mama might take a little longer for another. Give it a few days, stay hydrated, and try to relax – stress can definitely impact supply. I also found that ensuring I was getting enough healthy fats throughout the day, like from avocados and nuts, complemented the effects of the muffins. It’s a journey, and there will be ups and downs, but finding delicious and effective ways to support your body, like with these lactation muffins, can make all the difference. I truly hope this recipe becomes your go-to too, helping you feel more confident and supported on your breastfeeding path!
