Remember, giving your dog up because of your inability to devote enough time shows your commitment to their well-being. This selfless act prioritizes their happiness and care. Engaging with support groups, both online and in person, can provide valuable emotional support. Sharing your story and hearing others' experiences can reduce feelings of isolation. Additionally, maintaining a connection with your dog’s new family, if possible, helps ease the transition for both parties. Receiving updates, photos, or videos can reassure you that your beloved dog continues to thrive. At the same time, welcoming a new dog into your life brings fresh joy and responsibility. As your current dog exhibits playful, energetic behavior, this can be a wonderful way to channel affection and companionship. Lastly, consider creating lasting memories through photos, videos, or a journal to honor your relationship with the dog you had to give away. This practice can be therapeutic and keeps the bond alive in a positive way. Remember, love for a pet transcends physical presence and continues in the heart.
