When Living for God Isn’t Easy!
Whew chiillee… This past Sunday was the first Sunday of the month, communion Sunday, and I’ve been reflecting heavy on what it really means to live for God.
See, we often think that once we walk down that aisle, answer the altar call, and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, that everything magically changes. We think we can say “I’m saved” and then keep living how we want. But nah, that’s not how this works.
God’s grace and mercy are real, but so is accountability. After you confess, that’s when the real work begins. Because when you take communion, you’re not just sipping juice and eating crackers; you’re renewing a covenant. You’re saying, “Lord, I’m choosing You over me.”
And baby, since I’ve truly committed my life to Christ, the tests have been nonstop! The same people who said they wanted me to change now question my transformation. The same ones who clapped for my glow-up are whispering about my growth. But guess what? That’s part of it!
When we choose to walk with Jesus, we’re also choosing to experience rejection, misunderstanding, and even temptation. But every test builds faith. Every trial strengthens endurance. And every whisper from the enemy is proof that you’re walking in purpose.
When the enemy whispers, “You ain’t changed,” remind yourself of 2 Corinthians 5:17—
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
You’re not who you were, and you don’t owe anyone proof of your process. Keep walking. Keep growing. Keep glorifying God, even when it’s not easy, because the reward on the other side of obedience is worth every trial.
