You don’t look like what you’ve been through…
There are seasons in life where getting out of bed feels like a battle. You put on your best outfit, beat your face to perfection, and smile through the pain hoping no one sees the storm behind your eyes. I know that feeling. The feeling of doubt, confusion, and mental fog. The feeling of asking God, “Why am I still in this season?”
But here’s what I’ve learned….God will sometimes let you walk through the fire so He can show the world that you can come out not smelling like smoke. That’s not just a cute saying, it’s biblical. In Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the fiery furnace. Yet when they came out, the Bible says not a hair on their heads was singed, and they didn’t even smell like smoke. That’s how God works. He allows the storm to shape you, not destroy you.
When you’re discerning your season, you’re really seeking spiritual understanding. Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Seasons are God’s timing system. You might be in a pruning season, a waiting season, or a preparation season. The key is knowing that each one has purpose.
God uses these moments to test your obedience, refine your mindset, and deepen your faith. You don’t always need to see what He’s doing to trust that He’s doing something. Discernment means recognizing what God is teaching you instead of trying to rush out of what’s uncomfortable.

Revelation at its best. Amen!!
