My first DNF

I have not ever not read a book before. Some take me forever, or i have to listen to the audio, but I get it done!

I decided after lots of consideration and advice from friends that “lifes to short to read bad books”, that I am not finishing this book- or the series.

Kind of disappointinf because I so highly loved the inheritance games, but even with the first book, the naturals, I just could not get into it. It was so slow, and it didnt not keep me wanting to read it.

What are your thoughts on not finishing books?

... Read moreIn the world of literature, DNF (Did Not Finish) books can evoke mixed feelings. While many readers feel compelled to finish everything they start, the reality is that life is too short to spend time on books that don't resonate. For instance, the author mentioned their love for *The Inheritance Games*, yet found it challenging to engage with *The Naturals*. This phenomenon is common; books can vary greatly in pacing and relatability. Literature is subjective—what sparks joy for one might feel tedious for another. Many readers discuss the importance of finding one's reading style and preferences instead of adhering to others' recommendations. Engaging in discussions, like the hashtag movements seen on platforms such as #dnfbook and #BookReview, encourages readers to share their experiences without judgment. One suggestion for those grappling with a DNF is to set small goals, such as reading for a specific amount of time before deciding whether to continue. Remember, reading should be an enjoyable escape, and abandoning a book that doesn’t capture your interest can free you to discover genuine literary gems that spark excitement and curiosity. Whether you’re part of a book club or reading solo, it’s essential to choose books that align with your interests and make the journey enjoyable.
