Tennessee. worth it? absolutely!

⭐️ Rating: 10/10

Location: Sevierville, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge

🌞 Day 1: we had a beautiful cabin Airbnb on top of the mountains in Sevierville. It was extremely affordable approximately $500 for three nights. The cabin had an outdoor Jacuzzi and an indoor Jacuzzi bathtub. We took advantage of those.

👀 Cons: driving in the mountains at night in the dark with no lights is a little scary if you’ve never done it but by the third day I was a pro.

We had dinner at a highly recommended place by a local called Aubrey’s. I had the catfish and it was amazing. Their Rattlesnake pasta was absolutely to die for. We actually ate here twice during our trip.

🌞 Day 2: we went to pigeon Forge Island, and we had lunch at Paula Deans restaurant. In my opinion, a little overrated and we were not prepared for the family size portions. All you can eat, which is very convenient if you have a big party with you, but it was just me and my partner so we wasted a lot of food the biscuits that you get are amazing though

We went to moonshine tasting that was so fun super cheap paid nine dollars and we got to try eight different types of moonshine. The bartender was very interactive and funny.

They have lots of shops, candy stores, rides, and other things to do there. You can even just sit and enjoy the water fountains that spray to the music.

After that, we went to Gatlinburg and went to Sky Park. The whole area of Gatlinburg there’s so many different things to do places to eat things to ride. We rode in the skyline to the other side of the bridge. We walked through the glass bridge and when you get to the other side, there’s a restaurant, drinks, fire pits, an amazing view.

We had dinner at Azula Mexican restaurant and it was really good.

Day 3: we went to Jayell Ranch and went horseback riding through the mountains. This was extremely affordable 50 bucks for a one hour horse ride through the mountains. I feel like you can’t beat that. They also had a ATVs to ride through the mountains and animal farm zip lining lots of things they offer. It’s family owned and the staff there are so great.

We ended day three headed back to Gatlinburg area to place a lock on love lock bridge because it was our five year anniversary. It was a cheap romantic thing to do and you throw the key in the water. We then on the way back to the cabin rode the mountain coaster called Alpine coaster was very fun.

This may not be an exciting trip for some, but it was great for us. It was very relaxing. We live in Florida so the mountains and the relaxation being in the cabin in the woods was nice relaxing vacation that we needed.

... Read moreWow, what an incredible journey! My recent 3-day escape to Tennessee, specifically revolving around Sevierville, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge, truly exceeded expectations. While the main itinerary covered some fantastic spots, I wanted to share a few more insights and practical tips to help you make the most of your own Smoky Mountain adventure, especially if you're looking for those memorable moments and hidden gems! For those intrigued by the outdoor thrills mentioned at Jayell Ranch, let's talk more about off-roading. The article touched on ATVs, but if you're searching for 'SXS' or Side-by-Side experiences, Jayell Ranch is indeed a great place to start! They offer guided ATV tours, which are perfect for exploring the rugged mountain terrain. Imagine navigating winding trails, splashing through puddles, and taking in breathtaking panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains – it's an exhilarating way to connect with nature. My advice for anyone considering this: wear old clothes you don't mind getting dirty, bring sunglasses, and prepare for a bumpy, fun ride! It's an unforgettable experience for adventurers of all skill levels, and definitely a unique way to get some amazing "pics of Tennessee" action shots. Pigeon Forge itself is a hub of entertainment, and while the Island and its moonshine tasting (like at Ole Smoky Moonshine) are highlights, there's so much more to discover after you've had your fill of delicious biscuits at Paula Deen's. Beyond the rides and shops, consider catching a dinner show – they are a staple here! From Dolly Parton's Stampede to Hatfield & McCoy, these shows offer a full evening of entertainment, often with hearty, family-style meals. For shopping enthusiasts, don't miss the Tanger Outlets for some retail therapy. If you're visiting with family, Dollywood is also a must-see, offering thrilling rides and fantastic live music. Walking along the Parkway, you'll find countless unique boutiques, craft stores, and even more delicious eateries, making it easy to spend an entire day just exploring. One thing I found invaluable was taking time to simply soak in the natural beauty. While the SkyPark in Gatlinburg offers incredible views, don't forget to explore some of the scenic drives or short hikes in the area for those postcard-perfect "pics of Tennessee." The overlooks along the Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook or Newfound Gap Road provide stunning vistas, especially during sunrise or sunset. Pack a small picnic and find a quiet spot to enjoy the mountain air. Finally, a quick tip for accommodation: while our cabin in Sevierville was perfect, booking in advance, especially during peak seasons, is crucial. Look for places with amenities like outdoor jacuzzis – it's the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. And if you're like me and prefer a relaxed pace, remember that driving in the mountains at night can be tricky at first, but you'll get the hang of it quickly! This trip was a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, and I genuinely hope these extra tips inspire your own unforgettable Tennessee getaway.
