Every reading week looks different for me and some days I truly don't want to read while others I can finish a whole book in one sitting. I was hesitant about posting this because I didn't read that much on Friday but it's real and that's what I stand for.
I'm well aware that 411 pages is more than someone may read in a month. I am not in any way trying to brag or come off in a stuck up 'Im better than you' way. More than anything, I truly wanted to see what I read in my week and thought it would be fun to document it through Lemon8.
I started my week by finishing 'The American Roommate Experiment' by Elena Armas. Overall, I loved it but there were several scenes or sentences that made me cringe so bad. Definitely pick it up if you're looking for a good romance that will make your dating standards fly through the roof.
Once I finished that book, I decided to finally read 'It Ends With Us' by Colleen Hoover. I want to preface this by saying I don't agree with a lot of things this author does/has done. During this week's reading experience, I managed to complete a total of 411 pages, showcasing a mix of genres that cater to varied interests.
Starting with 'The American Roommate Experiment' by Elena Armas, I found this romantic read to be both fun and cringeworthy at times, which is often the hallmark of engaging romance novels. Armas excels at creating relatable characters who navigate love and friendships in amusing scenarios, proving why these types of stories are so popular.
Then, I delved into Colleen Hoover's 'It Ends With Us.' This book has sparked much conversation and anticipation due to its upcoming film adaptation. Hoover's style captivates readers, weaving profound themes of love, relationships, and personal growth. A notable takeaway from my reading was the importance of narratives that challenge societal norms and evoke strong emotional responses, which is vital for any literature aiming to leave a significant impact on its audience.
In addition to analyzing the books I read, sharing my journey encourages others to explore their own reading habits. Are you tracking your reading? Whether you're revisiting old favorites or seeking new adventures, every page contributes to our understanding of the world and ourselves. With countless titles available, there's always a new story waiting to be discovered.
